FLORENCE ROAD

SATURDAY

With influences as wide-ranging as Laura Marling, Fiona Apple and Paul Simon, to name a few, Niamh Bury’s music will resonate with fans of artists like Big Thief, Ye Vagabonds and Billie Marten.

The respected UK music magazine CLASH referred to Niamh in an interview as “The rising voice breaking boundaries for Irish folk”. RTÉ Radio 1 has added all of her singles to their coveted ‘RTÉ Radio 1 Recommends’ list. The Sunday Times featured her on the cover of their Culture Magazine as her first single ‘Beehive’ was released – an incredible achievement for a new artist – such is the regard in which Niamh and her music are held.

Ending 2023 on a high note, Niamh stunned audiences at Other Voices Dingle where she played three very special sets: an intimate acoustic concert at An Diséart against the backdrop of the chapel’s famous Harry Clarke stained glass windows - to say you could hear a pin drop is an understatement; a packed out O’Sullivan’s Courthouse which delighted those lucky enough to squeeze into the tiny pub; and an incredible, string-laden performance at Other Voices’ The Other Room venue, accompanied by revered musicians Caimin Gilmore on double bass and Kate Ellis on cello – this performance will be aired on RTÉ Two television on the 21st of March.

She has performed at St. Patrick’s Festival, Body & Soul, Quiet Lights, and Dún Laoghaire Folk Festival, captivating audiences with uniquely stirring vocals, adept lyricism, and striking interpretations of old songs.

Niamh is one of the chief organisers of the iconic traditional singing session The Night Before Larry Got Stretched, which famously takes place in The Cobblestone Pub on the last Sunday of every month and whose founders include members of Lankum.

He’s been writing and sharing songs on the internet since he was 14, emulating the heartfelt folk sound of artists like Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell. He loves to explore themes of heartbreak, growing up, and queer identity. He has so far released two EPs and an album, and played a number of sold-out shows in Dublin and London. He has collaborated with Irish artists like Maria Kelly, Kojaque, and Ezra Williams.

THEATRE

THURSDAY
There’s very little, if anything, known about Limerick band Theatre, who seem to be moving in the shadows of Ireland’s explosive music scene. The band, made up of Dara, Oscar, Sonny and Sean, have whipped up a storm of excitement through their outstanding live shows; gorgeous, emotive melodies and the stunning vocals of lead singer, Maeve. Blending ethereal rock music with folk and shoegaze, the music is understated yet feels timeless, and their songs seem to enter your body, trance-like, and never leave. Despite the spotlight shining so heavily on Irish music at the moment, with nothing out and very little online presence, it seems the ones that let their music do the talking have the loudest voice.

I DREAMED I DREAM

SATURDAY

I Dreamed I Dream are a four-piece from Cork, known for their unapologetic mix of noise, chaos, and raw energy. Blending post-punk, dream-pop, sean-nós, and 60s girl groups with a distinct Corkonian edge, they’ve quickly become one of Ireland’s most exciting live acts. Described by Paste Magazine as “possibly the best live act in Ireland right now,” their performances blur the line between gig and theatrical exorcism – think noise, catharsis, and a communal toast of tonic wine. Their debut EP Why Say A Lot? (2023) drew praise for its mix of noise-rock, shoegaze, and sardonic humour, with Nialler9 calling it “a challenge to every teenage girl in Ireland.” The follow-up, BOYOPOISONING (April 2025), pushes their sound further, fusing traditional elements with bold experimentation in what the band calls “a raw, unfiltered dive into the chaos of your twenties... about love, loss, and Princess Diana.”

Formed in 2021 by Julie Landers and Elle O’Leary Kelleher, and joined by Claire Aherne (vocals/bass) and Niamh Hayes (synths), I Dreamed I Dream have become a staple of Ireland’s vibrant music scene, with appearances at Other Voices, Féile na Gréine, and more. With BOYOPOISONING, they capture the raw intensity and emotional depth of their live performances, distilling it into a recording that is equal parts defiant, heartfelt, and unpredictable.

Dubbed ‘weird and wonderful’ (Hot Press) and ‘unorthodox’ (RTE), telekura was named after a Japanese telephone-based dating service and blends maximalist synths and velvety vocals to create 90s-tinged pop songs with a whiff of psychedelia. The band's core consists of seasoned musicians: Rachel, a Malaysian-born singer/songwriter and former front-person of Lost Weekend, and Stephen, a songwriter who founded Irish indie quartet We Should Be Dead. Since their debut in 2023, telekura has since seen a string of successes with tracks that have secured prime placements in global Spotify editorials and earned praise from national press and the BBC.

Since their first show in the Róisín Dubh in March 2024, they have accelerated onto the Irish music scene, having supported acts such as Pillow Queens, Paddy Casey, Search Results, and Langkamer, to playing electrifying performances at band nights such as Whelan’s Ones to Watch.

Their delivery is centred around a duo vocal approach, exploring interesting harmony, as Rosa and Ciarán’s voices are at the forefront. Driving melodic bass cuts through the shimmering, dreamy guitar sounds, while the drums tease the audience with an unorthodox use of timing, propelling the band in and out of different time signatures. The All Thumbs sound is reminiscent of Tame Impala, Men I Trust, Arctic Monkeys and Courtney Barnett.
